The International University of Management (IUM) has welcomed Mr. Makandwa, University Librarian from Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS), Zimbabwe, who is currently on a two-week benchmarking visit at IUM.
Speaking at the welcoming, Prof. Osmund Mwandamele, IUM Vice-Chancellor, stated that IUM is always pleased to welcome colleagues from all corners of the world for benchmarking visits. These engagements foster learning and the establishment of collaboration. He further encouraged IUM Library staff to take full advantage of this engagement by sharing knowledge, as such visits should be mutually beneficial.
The purpose of benchmarking is for libraries to share knowledge and experiences between the two institutions, identify areas of improvement and strengthen collaboration. It also presents an opportunity for institutions to explore and adopt best practices in library and knowledge management.
